SoCal & St. Louis based Destination Wedding Photographer

My Style in 100 words:

My goal at your wedding is to show up as if I were an old friend with a fancy camera. It helps me blend in and be a part of your day, allowing me to comfortably capture my signature “relaxed portraits & real moments” (with some amazing details sprinkled in). Most of the images taken are of the events of the day... as they unfold, and moments as they naturally occur. And when it’s time for the “posed pictures”, my specialty is helping you relax in front of the camera. I promise not to turn your wedding into a photo shoot.

About [ b ]

“Relax... I’m a professional”

Ever since picking up an SLR camera and developing my own film during my high school photo class back in '89, I have been in love with photography.

I knew right away that I was meant to be a professional photographer and started my business at the ripe old age of 16.

Right out of high school... I started shooting actor’s head shots and model’s portfolios. While that whole Hollywood scene wasn’t for me... I did learn how to see light and find the right angles to make people look their absolute best in photos.

Now I'll bring that experience to your wedding portraits!

  • My gift is making you comfortable in front of my camera... that’s why I am known for my signature style of “Relaxed Portraits” and I can promise you that you’ll be Guaranteed Gorgeous!
  • I’ll find the good light, I’ll shoot you from the right angle, and I’ll put you at ease. I’ll get your real smile and capture the real youor perhaps a slightly better looking version of yourself!
  • You want a photographer that will create images you will cherish for the rest of your lives. I want clients who will trust me to do just that!

Here’s a little more about me:

This was my first business card given to me a high school graduation gift back in ‘91. After taking a few photo classes, then doing the school newspaper and yearbook, I was hooked on photography and it’s been in my blood ever since.

I don’t have any kids of my own (yet), but I try to be super uncle to my sister’s kids Caden & Addison. They are the coolest kids ever. Cade is like my mini me and Addy is just precious. I love them both so much!

I moonlight as a wannabe semi professional poker player. I’ve played on the WSOP Main Event twice, but even if I win the multi-million dollar first prize some day, I will still be a wedding photographer.

I look forward to Burning Man every year. If you don't know what it is... it’s hard to explain but think extreme camping meets a crazy party in the middle of BFE. I love the creative energy, the free spirits & the overall vibe. The photo ops are one of a kind as well!

In November of 2010, I shot at wedding at the Bellagio and got my photo with Elvis. When I saw it, I almost died as I hadn’t realized how much weight I'd gained. I was pushing 300 pounds so I immediately decided that it was time to start leading a healthier lifestyle.

Now I keep to a fairly strict a paleo lifestyle with the occasional cheat day. I also do crossfit 3 or 4 days a week when I’m not traveling. I’ve dropped 70 pounds and kept most of it off for 3+ years. I recently kicked my Diet Dr. Pepper addiction as well.

My fianceé Ashley is also an incredibly talented photographer from St. Louis. We met at a photo convention. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. It’s awesome when we get to shoot together!

I love to travel (who doesn’t?). I’ve shot weddings all over the world and even when I am not “working”, my camera is always close by. I also love Instagram and I share my iPhone images often. You can follow my adventures at @thebecker.

Back in 2008, my [ b ] logo turned 10 years old and my graphic designer painted this to celebrate a decade of the brand. I’m quite proud of what it stands for and I am so thankful to the hundreds of couples who have trusted me to document their days.

I saw this at a local farmers market. Replace the word “chicken” with “photography” and the same applies. I hope you value excellent photography.

I am a professional and I know what I’m doing. I’ve been doing this for a long time and I still absolutely love it! I know I’m not the cheapest photographer you’ve looked at, but I promise you... I am worth every penny! I don't say that to brag, but I truly believe in my ability and if you are looking for someone to capture relaxed portraits and real moments... I’m your guy!
